Hi, I’m Hope

A professional artist based in Fort Collins, Colorado, with 15+ years of experience in graphic design, illustration, and photography. I've worked with grassroots non-profit organizations, start-ups, and multi-million dollar companies alike. Regardless of scale, my passion is helping create visual brands with warm personalities and eye-catching elements that truly connect with audiences.

I specialize in hand-drawn ink and digital illustrations focused on natural elements for use across marketing, print, web, and packaging applications. Most of my work centers on botanical themes, which has naturally attracted clients in the natural food and beverage, health and wellness, and wedding industries.

MY STORY

I am first and foremost a dedicated mama to my two sweet babies, Neil and Lila—they have my heart and are honestly my greatest art project. Along with nurturing and shaping my little ones, I'm a maker, baker, and novice candlestick maker. If I can create it with my hands, I'm going to give it a try. This hands-on approach means my work has a wide range—I work in cycles and seasons, always growing and learning new skills.

No matter what season of projects I'm in, my greatest mission is to be thoughtful toward humanity and our planet. I strive to live a low-waste life, and that philosophy carries over into my work.

I was born and raised in northwestern Wisconsin and moved to Colorado in 2013. The ephemeral woodland meadows of trilliums and trout lilies still delight my inner child, but I've grown to love the hazy mountain silhouettes and rabbit brush landscapes that captivate the imagination. Colorado has found its way into my heart, and I can finally say it feels like home.

I earned my Bachelor's of Science in Environmental Science with an emphasis in Plant Science, GIS, and Studio Art (it's a whole story). I've always been mesmerized by the natural world—its vastness is so immense, with vibrant arrays of color, shapes, and patterns creating endless rhythms and ripples.

During my studies, I discovered Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator installed on my college laptop. This serendipitous find propelled me toward where I am today. I taught myself these programs and gradually began gaining clients for photography and graphic design work. I created band posters, logos, and donated my time to develop meaningful work for local environmental and humanitarian non-profits.

After graduating, I had envisioned working for the Department of Natural Resources to make a direct physical impact on environmental preservation. Life had different plans, bringing me full circle to where I am today—an artist and designer still deeply inspired by the natural world that first captured my imagination.
